May and June is when we fish for Shad. We also combine Shad fishing with Salmon and Sturgeon trips if that is what you're looking for. Or Shad trips can just be a great day of family fun. If you want non stop fish fighting action, or want you children to catch a lot of fish, this fishery is for you. These fish range from 3 to 5 pounds, and are a real scrappy, hard fighting fish.
Most of my clients only book 4 hour Shad fishing trips because their arms can't take any more than that. That's why we offer Shad as a combination with Salmon or Sturgeon. It's the best of both worlds.
100+ 3 to 5 pound Shad in 4 hours are very common.
